Social Simulation in Groups

Last year, the SSIG (Social Simulation in Groups) working group of the Network Institute’s Academy Assistants project at the VU has focused on the following research question:

How do group identities develop, based on the dynamic interplay between network structure, inter-/intragroup interaction and group actions?

The result of this effort is a computer simulation depicting social interaction in groups. Currently, the SSIG research group is starting a collaboration with the Collective Action research group, seeking to validate the current computer model on existing data.
